Merry Christmas

I am so grateful for the message of the angel. "...good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a savior..." We have a Saviour, and that is such wonderful news and brings great joy. PTL for the hope we have and the joy we have. And, He is returning again. What incredible glories wait for us. Thank you Jesus for coming...for me.

My weekly thankfuls also include:
  • Max...who loves to sleep under the tree.
  • And who also loves to redecorate by taking off ornaments, and placing his toys under the tree instead.
  • Working an extra 12 hours this week.
  • My 10 hour day on Thursday was an unusually quiet day which was a huge blessing and a wonderful answer to prayer.
  • The fun of going shopping with hubby. We were able to find some things we had been wanting and had a great time doing it.

I am Grateful for....

Another week has gone by, and I am grateful for so many things....

Snowmen,

and their wonderful smiling optimisim.

  • Warm weather! Temps in the 60's and even low 70's. Course this makes a problem when I insist on wearing Christmas sweaters while doing shopping...I end up using the a/c so I am not too hot.
  • Having our extremely busy son take some of his precious free time to pop over and fix hubby's computer. Thanks Brad!
  • Enjoying hubby's latest meal...he fixed yummy waffles, and knowing I love fruit on top of them he even bought fresh raspberries! Yum! I have decided I love breakfast for dinner! He had whipped cream for the fruit, pus bacon, and coffee. Three cheers for hubby.
  • Working 3 days this week. PTL for the job He has provided for me.
  • Getting Cards in the mail from friends.
  • Realizing that I know that Jesus in all His incredible glory is returning. What a day that will be.
  • Enjoying Christmas lights...and being reminded of the Light of the World.
  • Very thankful that there is no snow.
  • Browsing with hubby in the biggest "western" type store I have ever been in. An incredible array of cowboy boots, hats, saddles, belts, clothes, jewelry, and all sorts of things too inumberable to mention. I loved the smell of leather that permeated the place!

In everything give thanks....

Giving thanks...I don't seem to run out of things to be thankful for...that is a blessing in itself. This week I am grateful for so many things:
  • Finding my "lost" sunglasses! That is, SA found them when he cleaned out our car a week or so ago. I thought I had lost them on our trip north, and what a blessing to have them back again!
  • Enjoying chocolate mint cappachino...with mini marshmallows.
  • Being reminded that God is indeed my refuge. What a blessing it is to hide in Him, and be safe from the storms that swirl around and try to rob us of peace.
  • Enjoying hubby's latest meal...wonderful bean soup cooked in the crock pot. It smelled so good when I got home from work yesterday! And, it tasted great as well!
  • Shopping with hubby-twice this week.
  • My work...and only having to work 2 days this week. What a blessing after the marathon of the week before!
  • Knowing that God loves me.
  • Reading blogs of friends.
  • Enjoying my laptop from the comfort of my recliner.
  • Christmas tea light holders.
  • Christmas cards.
  • Making cookies.

97

Today my mother turns 97. She is one amazing lady, and I want to honor her today.
  • She is an example of cheerfulness in the face of adversity.
  • She loves to share. Having goodies around to share to those who come in to visit, or to care for her is a delight to her.
  • She loves people.
  • She has always wanted me to do what the Lord wanted me to do, even if wasn't easy for her.
  • She taught me to love handwork-making things with plastic canvas, knitting, crocheting etc.
  • She taught me to love Jesus, and read countless Bible stories to us when we were growing up.
  • She has a wonderful sense of humor.
Happy Birthday Mama

Giving Thanks

And, once again I come full of thanks. It has been a good week, and I have been busy. Isn't it nice to be busy!!! My thanks for the week include:
  • Wearing my Christmas sweater when I did Christmas shopping, even if I had to have the a/c on in the car so I wouldn't be too warm.
  • On Wednesday finishing up my stretch of working 7 days out of the previous 8. And, the one day off was Thanksgiving! Over 55 hours....PTL for His Grace and help through the process.
  • My sister. Today she is celebrating a milestone birthday. I will not tell you which one it is out of deference to her, but you can probably figure it out. I appreciate her, enjoy her, and am very grateful for all the memories, and what an awesome sister and friend she has been and is. Love you Marge.
  • Decorating our home for Christmas. What fun!
  • Finding out that one of the perks of working evenings during the holiday season is enjoying the Christmas lights on the drive home. We have some neat displays in the neighborhood.
  • Still enjoying the fact that somebody complained to my manager at work that her staff is too happy.
  • Going out to dinner with hubby.
  • Having books to read.
